Whinlatter Mountain Forest provides a rewarding learning and activity experience for KS3 upwards with many schools using the venue whilst on Residential field trips. Geography, Forestry, Team-building, and Conservation themes are especially popular.
Stunning views from the hillsides clearly show the effects of ice and water on the landscape as well as the more recent man-made elements, giving young people new perspectives for appreciating and caring for the world they live in.
Just give us a call to discuss your programme and we can advise how best to make the most of our Forest with a Ranger led session.
Here are some programmes that teachers and leaders have used recently:

Green Conservation Activity – Tree planting or clearing with one of our Foresters
Eco Tourism – Ospreys and a million visitors – impact on a local community.
Re-branding – From tree producer to multipurpose forestry.
Specialist Forestry Management Sessions – (KS4) can be arranged with one of our Senior Foresters
